Troy Carney was born in New Zealand and has made his way all around the globe. From travels to Asia, Indonesia, Polynesia, Australia, and the South Pacific; Troy Carney finally settled on the beautiful island of Kauai in 1992. He began with airbrushing surfboards and quickly made a name for himself. Using his travels and clear love of the ocean he now integrates his crafts. Using Japanese knives, he hand cuts 12-36 layers of texture on wood resulting in a bas-relief that is gilded with 12k-24k genuine gold and finished with traditional oils and rich glazes.Â
